Signs of the times

        In Old Testament days, God's people faced war, famine, pestilence and other disasters when they turned from Him, ignored His guidelines and pursued "other gods."  His Word tells us that these and other signs will multiply at "the end of the age."

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places."  Matthew 24:7

To prepare His people for future events, Jesus told His disciples,

"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near... Watch therefore...." Matthew  24:32-33, 42
