Wisdom
"Trust in
the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not
on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in
your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and
depart from evil."
Proverbs 3:5-7
"...we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet
not the
wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to
nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God...
which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known,
they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
But as it is written:
'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which
God has prepared for those who love Him.'
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the
Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For
what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man
which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except
the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the
world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the
things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom
teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches.... But the natural man does not receive
the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him;
nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.....For
'who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?' But
we have the mind of Christ..."
1 Corinthians 2:6-16
Seeking His
wisdom
"...if you cry
out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden
treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find
the knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding....
When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your
soul,
Discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you,
To deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks
perverse things,
From those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of
darkness;
Who rejoice in doing evil, and delight in the perversity of
the wicked;
Whose ways are crooked, and who are devious in their paths."
Proverbs 2:3-15
"...treasure
my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart
to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for
understanding,
If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden
treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the
knowledge of God.
For the Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;"
Proverbs 2:1-6
"So teach us to number our days
That we may gain a heart of wisdom."
Psalm 90:11

The delights
of Wisdom
When wisdom
enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
Discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you,
To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things,
From those who leave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ways of darkness..."
Proverbs 2:10-13
"He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly."
Proverbs 2:7
"When pride comes, then comes shame;
But with the humble is wisdom.
The integrity of the upright will guide them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them."
Proverbs
11:2
God's
Wisdom
“Can you lift up
your voice to the clouds,
That an abundance of water may cover you?
Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, and say to you,
‘Here we are!’?
Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to
the heart?
Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles
of heaven,
When the dust hardens in clumps, and the clods cling together?"
Job 38:34-38
"Now I know in
part, but then I shall know just as I also am known."
1 Corinthians 13:12
"O Lord, how
manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all."
Psalm 104:24
Sharing His
wisdom with others
“'If you return,
then I will bring you back; you shall stand before Me;
If you take out the precious from the vile, you shall be as My
mouth.
Let them return to you, but you must not return to them.
And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall;
And they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail
against you;
For I am with you to save you and deliver you,' says the Lord.
'I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked,
And I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible.”
Jeremiah 15:19-21
