"The devastating hurricanes that hit the U.S. recently offered 'eco-doomsayers'

As usual, the eco-doomsayers care very little for the small fact
that their sweeping accusations have absolutely no basis in modern
science.

in 1990, but few believed us. We knew that the effects of human activities
were miniscule compared to one major volcano spewing its gasses into the
stratosphere. So we included a chapter on this topic for our 1992 book,

Committing malpractice on the
world's poor: "Eleven
million succumb annually to malnutrition and starvation, because their nations
still rely on primitive farming methods and activists prevent the introduction
of biotechnology that could help farmers grow more nutritious crops....
"Danish
environmentalist Bjorn Lomborg calculates that the
Kyoto treaty would slash global economic
growth by $150 billion a year -- to cut hypothetical temperature
increases by 0.3 degrees by 2050. For half
that amount, he says, we could provide
clean water, proper sanitation, quality education and modern healthcare
for every poor person on the planet....
"Nowhere,
though, has WHO failed more miserably to carry out its primary mission than
in the case of malaria. This disease makes tens of millions too sick to
work for weeks on end, leaves thousands with permanent brain damage, kills
up to a million children.... After using DDT for years to control the disease,
South Africa bowed to environmentalist pressure, and switched to another,
more politically acceptable pesticide. Within three years, malaria shot
from a few thousand cases a year to nearly 70,000."

ice sheets, near South Pole:
"'Higher average temperatures result in the melting of glaciers, in ice
being discharged into the oceans from the ice caps of Antarctica.' So stated
Al Gore in his well-known book, Earth

the ice sheet is actually thickening, not
melting, reversing earlier estimates about its condition. The new
measurements, taken from the Ross ice streams using special satellite-based
radars, indicate the ice streams in the region

a week after another astonishing revelation published in the prestigious
journal Nature, which reports that Antarctica's harsh desert valleys – long
considered a bellwether for global climate change – have

Polar history shows melting
ice-cap may be a natural cycle: "THE melting of sea ice at the
North Pole may be the result of a centuries-old natural cycle and not an
indicator of man-made global warming.... After researching the log-books
of Arctic explorers spanning the past 300 years, scientists believe that
the outer edge of sea ice may expand and contract over regular periods of
60 to 80 years. This change corresponds roughly with known cyclical
changes in atmospheric temperature. The finding opens the possibility that
the recent worrying changes in Arctic sea ice are simply the result of
standard cyclical movements, and not a harbinger of major climate change.
The amount of sea ice is currently near its lowest point in the cycle and
should begin to increase within about five years."

annoy conservative Christians for whom the word 'environmentalism' connotes
liberals, secularists and Democrats. ...

facts from a globalist perspective]:
"Perceiving the truth has always been a challenge to mankind, but in the
information age (or as I think of it, the disinformation age) it takes on
a special urgency and importance. ...
"With so many past failures, you might think that environmental
predictions would become more cautious. But not if it's a religion.... I
can tell you that DDT is not a carcinogen ... and should never have been
banned. I can tell you that the people who banned it knew that it wasn't

the deaths of tens of millions of poor people, mostly children, whose deaths

Polar Disasters: More Predictable
Distortions of Science: "First, Nature magazine reports that
the Antarctic food chain is all out of whack, with krill populations crashing
around the South Orkney Islands because of global warming. Then a new, federally
funded 'Arctic Climate Impact Assessment' (ACIA) comes along, predicting
the upcoming extinction of polar bears and the death of Inuit culture. But
you can breathe a sigh of relief because both of those disaster stories
are critically flawed. In fact, the only real disaster they demonstrate
is the disheartening decay of the peer-review process....

very same data that show a relationship between the amount of ice and the
krill also show that there has been absolutely
no change in the amount of ice around South Orkney Island since 1975.Why
wasn't this caught in the peer review process?
"...in
the Pacific region bordering on Alaska and Siberia,
polar bear populations are increasing.
That fact did not make it into the ACIA report, but the doomsday WWF claim
did."

2003 ozone hole has gone, U.N.
says: "Scientists have said the phenomenon results from destruction
of the gas in the atmosphere by chemical compounds such as chlorofluorocarbons
released in some aerosols and refrigerants. The hole refills with surrounding
ozone-rich air as temperatures rise."
Science has never
proven a "hole,"
but the ozone layer naturally thins every year during the southern winter
when the sun's long absence prevents new ozone from being created. The main
causes for increased thinning during some years are natural. Human action
is miniscule compared to one large volcanic eruption.

order to hold a job or position with the Forest Service, Bureau of Land
Management, EPA, Fish and Wildlife Service and a host of other such agencies,
one must have a 'green' attitude. In other words, a kid off a farm or ranch
that believes in private property rights, free enterprise, the second amendment
and the Constitution of the United States could never get on the payroll
of these federal regulatory agencies."
Villagers caught in GM food
battle

"A conservative U.S. group attending a World Trade Organization meeting
in the Mexican resort of Cancun handed out boxes of genetically altered
food to peasants in the nearby village of Valle Verde in an effort to show
that biotech food is safe. But Friends of the Earth environmental activists
disrupted the handout, which erupted into chaos as baffled residents looked
on.
"'You
are letting them starve, I hope you know that,' said Monica Gonzalez....
Gonzalez and a dozen other volunteers from the conservative Committee For
a Constructive Tomorrow gave out packets of rice, sugar and other genetically
altered staples in the village's main square."

How government regulations threaten
America
: "Environmentalists
claim that private property rights and greed are the root problem of pollution
and environmental degradation. Yet, the worst pollution and environmental
degradation has been on public land, water, or air - not private land. Since
no one 'owns' the land, water or air, pride of ownership or sense of responsibility
to care for these entities is lost....
" ..the worst examples of this phenomenon were the former Soviet Union and
Eastern Europe where there was no private property, yet they had the worst
environmental record in the history of humanity.... The most striking example
of how socialism destroys the wealth-building capability of property
is found in the developing nations of the world. In these nations, the simple
act of legally transferring the title to property can take years, even decades
in a sea of corruption and regulations."
Cosmic-climate study cools Kyoto:
"A widely misunderstood research paper says the sun's behaviour and the
Earth's position in the galaxy, not CO2 build-up, are at the root of global
warming. On July 1, the prestigious Geological Society of America (GSA)
released a blockbuster scientific paper that fundamentally challenges
the view that carbon dioxide is the principal driver of climate change.
Apart from its scientific importance, it has political implications as well,
since it pulls the rug out from under the Kyoto accord."
Extreme weather on the rise
:
"A study released Wednesday by the WMO -- a specialized climate science
agency of the United Nations -- says the world is experiencing record numbers
of extreme weather events, such as droughts and tornadoes.
"Laying
the blame firmly at the feet of global warming, the agency warned that the
number and intensity of extreme weather events could continue to increase.
...
"The
WMO said new analysis of data for the northern hemisphere showed the increase
in temperature in the 20th century was likely to have been the largest in
any century during the past 1,000 years."
The first paragraph is true. Based on known climatic cycles and far
more dependable statistics than those used by the UN to manipulate public
opinion, non-UN scientists predicted the extreme weather back in the eighties.
The second paragraph is propaganda: the UN presents natural weather
patters as a man-made crisis in order to persuade the public to submit to
unthinkable controls. The third paragraph omits the fact that most
of the rise in temperature happened before the rise in the "greenhouse gasses"
(which were blamed for "global warming.")

"A NASA-Department of Energy jointly funded study concludes the Earth has
been greening over the past 20 years. As climate changed, plants found it
easier to grow. ..."Our study proposes climatic changes as the leading cause
for the increases in plant growth over the last two decades, with lesser
contribution from carbon dioxide fertilization
and forest re-growth," said Ramakrishna Nemani, the study's lead author...."
US faces critical gas shortage
over summer: "Natural
gas supplies in the US have reached critically low levels in recent months
and may be inadequate to meet demand during a hot summer this year. ...The
problem arose after the US government encouraged natural gas as an environmentally
friendly fuel but refused to open what Mr Abraham said were about 40 per
cent of the potential gas resources on federal lands."

Middle Ages were warmer than
today, say scientists: "Claims
that man-made pollution is causing 'unprecedented' global warming have been
seriously undermined by new research which shows that the Earth was warmer
during the Middle Ages ....
"Such
claims have now been sharply contradicted by the most comprehensive study
yet of global temperature over the past 1,000 years. A review of more than
240 scientific studies has shown that today's temperatures are neither the
warmest over the past millennium, nor are they producing the most extreme
weather - in stark contrast to the claims of the environmentalists."

over public holidays since Stalin gave the order to research weather control
in the 1930s."
Humans may be able
to draw water out of the clouds, but only God can control the oceans, worldwide
evaporation, trade winds and air currents that turn water into clouds and
carry it to its inland destinations.

Growing rain:
"Loren Young is ready to try anything to fight the dry conditions that have
reached his eastern Montana farm, and that includes cloud seeding. It's
a feeling that isn't shared by many of his neighbors, who still consider
it a gimmick that neighboring North Dakota used years ago to steal their
rain.... 'My feeling is, it can't hurt,' Young said. 'North Dakota is doing
it and they're doing fine.'"
Actually,
they are not. Many farmers are in deep trouble. If weather modification
is behind the unusual deluges in some counties and the droughts in neighboring
counties, it brings disaster, not delight. But that would please the environmental
visionaries behind the Wildlands Project.

week to appear in court on May 7 on charges that he 'conducted regulated
activity without a permit.' If convicted, he could face a year in jail and

Extreme cold over South Pole
reveals global warming models are wrong:
"A discovery that it is much colder over the South Pole than believed has
exposed a major flaw in the computer models used to predict global warming,
a new scientific paper claims."
This is no news to those

But the media has been strangely silent about facts that contradict their

Christianity hurts animals:

is harmful to animals....'One of the things that causes a problem for the
animal movement is the strong strain of fundamentalist Christianity that
makes a huge gulf between humans and animals, saying humans have souls but
animals do not... [
"Mr. Singer said fundamentalist
Christians in this country take the Bible too 'literally' and promote 'speciesism.'
He defined speciesism as a belief by humans that they are 'superior to any
other being.'.... He said the Judeo-Christian ethic also teaches that humans
are made in the image of God and that God has given mankind 'dominion' over
animals.
"Mr. Land denounced the
claim Mr. Singer made in his book "Practical Ethics," that parents of a
severely disabled baby should be able to kill the child if they think it

How the smoke stacks of America
have brought the world's worst drought to Africa: "...the cleaning
of the air in the US and Europe (and the closure through economic failure
of many of the worst polluters in eastern Europe) does not mean that the
threat is over. If anything, it could get worse. Although Dr Roberts says
he is 'cautious' about taking the interpretation of the link between aerosols
in the northern hemisphere and the weather in the Sahel as gospel, he says
that if it is correct, then there are other areas around the globe that
could be threatened by a new wave of fossil-fuel burning. 'The emissions

Web site a claim that "efficient" urban density is about 500 households
an acre. This, in case you're wondering, is about three times the density
of Manhattan's most tightly packed areas.... Do the people who give money
to environmental groups realize the endgame is to evict people from their

voiced the same goal during the UN Conference on Human Settlements. He said,
"We
should stop bemoaning the growth of cities. It's going to
happen and it's a good thing, because cities are the vectors of social change
and transformation. Let's just make sure that social change and transformation
are going in the right direction."
