Leftist group advising Homeland Security: "Government reports characterizing some returning veterans as possible extremists have echoed the sentiments of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has likened tea party participants to shades of executed mass murderer Timothy McVeigh. But now it seems the SPLC has been made part of the broad Department of Homeland Security community... to help 'combat violent extremism.'...

     "The new DHS report suggests that 'knowledge regarding specific threats should be blended with awareness of societal and religious practices' and 'law enforcement should train communities on what constitutes a hate crime and encourage them to report hate crimes.'

     "Hate crimes in the U.S. have been adopted largely with special protections for homosexuals. Supporters of a federal hate crimes law signed by President Obama confirmed the law would not necessarily protect a Christian pastor speaking from his own pulpit on the issue of homosexuality.

Communists and Red Hand Clappers [at the One Nation Working Together rally]: "Since the Obama organization known as 'Organizing for America' urged its supporters to attend the rally, this should prompt questions to the White House. But it’s doubtful the media will utter a peep.

So Much for ‘We the People’ (by Thomas Sowell): "‘We the people' are the central concern of the Constitution... since it is a Constitution for a self-governing nation. But 'we the people' are treated as an obstacle to circumvent by the current administration in Washington.

    One way of circumventing the people is to rush legislation through Congress so fast that no one knows what is buried in it. Did you know that the so-called health-care-reform bill contained a provision creating a tax on people who buy and sell gold coins? You might debate whether that tax is a good or a bad idea. But the whole point of burying it in legislation about medical insurance is to make sure 'we the people' don’t even know about it, much less have a chance to debate it, before it becomes law....

Iranian funds have poured into the country...

    "...Smith charged that several Kenyan groups receiving USAID money had been given specific quotas built into their USAID contracts requiring the grantees to each produce 20,000 'yes' votes for the Aug. 4 referendum....'It is unconscionable that U.S. taxpayers are subsidizing a massive one-sided political campaign thinly disguised as 'civic education' in another sovereign nation,' the congressman said. Los Zetas drug cartel seizes 2 U.S. ranches in Texas: "In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas.... Laredo police have requested help from the federal government regarding the incursion by the Los Zetas.... Recently the drug organization has kidnapped tourists, infiltrated local municipalities and continues to smuggle narcotics into a very hungry U.S. market....The hostile takeover of the ranches has met with silence with local and national media..."

Al-Qaida warns Muslims: Time to get out of U.S.: "The new al-Qaida field commander in Afghanistan is calling for Muslims to leave the U.S. – particularly Washington and New York – in anticipation of a major terror attack to rival Sept. 11... Abu Dawood...suggests it may involve some form of weapon of mass destruction smuggled across the Mexican border. 'Our brothers are ready to attack inside America.... Muslim Brotherhood Jockeys for Power in Egypt: "The Islamic supremacist group known as the Muslim Brotherhood, which is dedicated... to eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within, has its best chance in years to take power in Egypt, with implications for the Middle East and beyond. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has terminal stomach cancer, and is not expected to survive beyond another year..."

Hezbollah Major Threat on Mexican Border: "'...there are people from Iran who are going to Venezuela. They are actually learning Spanish, and then they come up through Mexico to cross our border.'... Sen. John Kyl, an Arizona Republican, has said he met privately with President Barack Obama and implored him to secure the border. Germany's Surrender [to Muslims]: "The police union for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) stunned Germans this week when it announced it would bring policemen from Turkey to help patrol the turbulent streets of some immigrant neighbourhoods in NRW cities. With this announcement, the state’s police administration is admitting domestic police forces can no longer handle violent Turkish and other youths of immigrant backgrounds inhabiting these quarters.... There are 3.5 million Muslims in Germany....Many Germans do not view their police as the guilty party in this shameful surrender. Rather, they view the police’s admission regarding their loss of control of German territory as a failure of Germany’s politicians."

Hizbullah attacks in US via Mexico? The Audacity Against Arizona. "How is it that the presence of illegal immigrants in Arizona 'does not involve any legitimate state interest' on the part of Arizona? Illegal immigration has resulted in Phoenix having the second highest incident rate of kidnappings in the world. Only Mexico City has more kidnappings and many of the kidnappings in Phoenix have connections to the drug trade in Mexico. If you stop the illegal immigration you stop the kidnappings."

Open-Borders DOJ vs. America: "The Obama administration's lawsuit against Arizona....is a threatening salvo aimed at all local, county or state governments that dare to take control of the immigration chaos in their own backyards.... Mexican Drug Cartels Control Parts of Arizona: "...the sheriff described how his deputies were outmanned and outgunned by the cartel smugglers who increasingly operate using military tactics and weapons. The result, said Sheriff Babeu, was that a wide corridor of Arizona from the border North to the outskirts of Phoenix is effectively controlled by the cartels. 'We do not have control of this area,' the sheriff said....

      "At the same time as the sheriff's ignored press conference, the national media did cover assurances from the Obama Administration that crime was down at the border; that the border had never been safer. This ludicrous propaganda was based on selected crime stats from San Diego, Phoenix, Austin and San Antonio. The new reign of terror on the border in Arizona was airbrushed out of the picture.

      "Here's the real picture Obama does not want you to see. Warning signs were posted this past month by the federal government 80 miles North of the border... urging U.S. citizens not to camp or hike in the 'Active Drug and Human Smuggling Area' because 'Visitors May Encounter Armed Criminals.' ... Obama urges illegals: Rat out your bosses! "The Obama administration is encouraging illegal aliens to call its new hotline and rat out U.S. employers because they 'work hard and have the right to be paid fairly.'"

Mexico cartels empty border towns: "Hundreds of families are fleeing the cotton-farming towns of the Juarez Valley.... Mexican drug cartels seeking to minimize interference with their operations are using terror to empty the entire area. They have burned down homes in Esperanza... and torched a church on Good Friday in El Porvenir.... Wherever they strike, they leave notes ordering residents to leave. 'They...said, 'You have just a few hours to get out, ...the 14-year-old said as he set off for a new life in Texas....

    "The influx of new residents... has made townsfolk afraid that cartel enforcers have followed them to Texas to intimidate them. Sheriff's deputies have advised local farmers and ranchers to be vigilant - and armed....The region is perfect for smugglers, with miles (kilometers) of dirt roads that federal police and soldiers seldom patrol. As agents clear out Mexican gangs, more brutal ones move in: "'Violence fueled by the illegal drug trade has long been a daily fact of life along the U.S.-Mexico border. But as the Mexican and U.S. governments have made significant inroads in dismantling an older order of drug cartels, their rivals and even newer ones have moved to fill the vacuum... in increasingly terrifying and barbarous ways....

     "Beheading was a lesson the drug smugglers learned after watching Iraqi insurgents carry out videotaped beheadings.... 'Terrorists from the Middle East brought this practice to Central America then to Mexico. It is also a practice of the [violent U.S. street gang known as] MS-13.'.. Mexican drug cartels are now operating in more than 200 American cities. ...the federal government's failure to control the border had forced county law enforcement authorities into a 'financial nightmare.'... 'They have artillery, and they will use it.....America has already been impacted; it's just that Americans don't know it yet.'...

     "...in 2009, between 6,500 and 8,000 people were killed in Mexico as cartels battled for control over smuggling corridors.... Since 2008, Congress has approved a total of $1.05 billion for Mexico under the program."

Mexico kingpin captures drug routes: "After a two-year battle that has killed more than 5,000 people, Mexico's most powerful kingpin now controls the coveted trafficking routes through Ciudad Juarez.... The twin border cities of Ciudad Juarez and El Paso, Texas, are a primary crossing point for drugs smuggled into the United States. Control of drug routes in Chihuahua, the state along New Mexico and West Texas where Juarez is located, is vital to Mr. Guzman's efforts to grow his massive drug cartel's operations. Already, the Sinaloa cartel is the world's largest..."

Sheriff tells border town "arm yourselves": "'You farmers, I'm telling you right now, arm yourselves,' he said. ' it's better to be tried by 12 than carried by six.... I don't want to see six people carrying you.' His warning was prompted by the killing of the Arizona rancher, and the spiraling violence a couple of miles away in Mexico in a region known as the Valley of Juarez....

     "The violence in the Juarez Valley directly affects this little Texas town. A couple of weeks ago, gunmen in the Juarez Valley killed the Mexican relative of a Fort Hancock high school student... [The family] crossed the border... and took the student with them. [The gunmen] stabbed the relatives... which included his grandparents. ...they poked his eyes out with an ice pick.... And the river, the Rio Grande, is no deterrent. [It's] but a trickle....

     "More than 50 people were killed in the Juarez Valley in March. Arson and murder are the tactics being used to drive out rival traffickers..."

As agents clear out Mexican gangs, more brutal ones move in: "The bodies that turned up on a squalid back street in the border town of Reynosa in December were no longer human. The torsos showed deep lacerations and punctures; the severed heads were badly beaten and mutilated. Crudely butchered limbs lay scattered....

Civil War By Any Other Name: "Treated by the State Department and Homeland Security as simply a domestic criminal problem across the border, this no-holds-barred insurgency threatens the existence of all phases of legal governance in a large portion of the United States' southern neighbor.... There is no higher level of terrorism worldwide than that which exists today in Mexico. A conscious effort is in process by the drug cartels to take over the physical areas of northern and portions of central Mexico, replacing existing governmental forms with their own deadly justice....
