In contrast to God's kingdom, "the whole world is under the sway of the evil one." (1 John 5:19) Yet we know that:

"...our light AFFLICTION, which is but for a moment [in God's eternity], is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we look not at the [temporary] things which are seen, but at the [eternal] things which are not seen."  2 Cor. 4:17-18
