Hooking Up, Hanging Out and
Hoping for Mr. Right: College Women on Mating and Dating Today
:
"This is the first nationwide study to document the prevalence of '`hooking
up' on college campuses. The study found that hooking up, a distinctive
interaction between college women and men involving sex without commitment,
is widespread on campuses and profoundly influences campus culture. Forty
percent of women in the national survey said they had experienced a hook
up....
"When asked how satisfied she thought women were with the social situation
on campus, a student at SUNY-Stony Brook responded, 'Not very, because they
want a stable relationship and they haven't been able to find that and sometimes
they get hurt by guys.'"

Bracelets carry hidden meaning:
"Gloria Thomas never thought much about the jelly bracelets her two teenage
daughters in the Huntsville school district had been wearing for the past
year until she stumbled upon a color code chart in one of their notebooks.
For some students the plastic bracelets, which come in a rainbow of colors,
are more than a trendy fashion statement. They're also props for sex games,
a trend gaining momentum in other districts nationwide."

Promotes Polygamy:
"...acceptance of homosexual marriage will open the floodgates to the normalization
of any and all sexual relationships.... In the background is a case out
of Utah which may lead the U.S. Supreme Court to review the right of states
to criminalize polygamy. The plaintiff in that case, Tom Green, is a Utah
polygamist who has... appealed to the Supreme Court, citing the Court's
2003 decision Lawrence v. Texas which struck down laws criminalizing sodomy....

"Children as young as 12 years old and dance students from Carlsbad High
School mingled with gray-haired homosexuals and transvestites amid booths
hawking erotic gay magazines, free condoms... during the second annual San
Diego Youth Pride festival Saturday afternoon, May 1, at the taxpayer-funded
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center in Hillcrest.... Atop the
Center's roof, a rainbow flag waved at equal height with the Stars and Stripes.
A sign posted at the festival entrance advertised the event for ages '24
and under' with one adult guest permitted per youth."

That's not true. The Bible consistently

Why don't we blush any more
?
"Turn on the established news broadcasts on nearly any TV station, pick
up the newspaper in nearly any town, check the Internet and the things we
are reading would have a few decades ago made us blush but not today....
"If it is true that the more moral a society, the less it needs to be governed,
then we can understand why there are so many laws which often contradict
one another and often lack any constitutional authority.... A recent article
noted that 50% of people who call themselves Christian dabble in pornography....
"Can we put the genie back in the bottle? Our response to this moral dilemma
has been ineffective and as a result, is God turning America over to its
enemies just as He did Israel when they were disobedient?"

computer ring is the latest in an evolution of attacks that allow creators
of spam and illicit computer schemes to use other people's computers as
accomplices.... Antispam activists have also accused Russian organized crime
organizations of taking over home and business PC's to create networks for
sending spam."
Wonder how many people are responding to
these sordid temptation -- or being desensitized by the constant bombardment.

Navy chaplains disciplined at
high rate:
"The Navy has punished more than 40 chaplains over
the last decade for offenses ranging from sexual abuse to fraud -- a misconduct
rate much higher than for other officers... 'Navy chaplains, in fact, create
a disproportionate number of problem cases.'..
"The previously undisclosed documents detail offenses that included adultery,
spousal assault and sexual harassment that were so pervasive that in 1999,
then-Navy Secretary Richard Danzig ordered a new training and oversight
program to ensure the Navy's nearly 870 chaplains met high moral standards....
"Examples: A Roman Catholic chaplain went to prison for molesting the young
sons of sailors and Marines. A Seventh-day Adventist chaplain was court-martialed
for an indecent assault during a counseling session. Three chaplains --
a Baptist, a Catholic and a United Pentecostal Church International minister
-- were punished for downloading pornography onto Navy computers....

This is so tragic,
but -- considering today's faith in "cheap grace" and politically correct
interpretations of God's Word -- it shouldn't surprise us.

give big boost to spammers: "The world's e-mail systems will
go into meltdown next year through 'spam overload' caused by American legislation
intended to solve the problem, Britain's top spam-fighter warned yesterday.
Within 18 months, e-mail could itself be dead, with 99 out of 100 messages
being junk, and an e-mail being less certain to arrive at its destination
than a letter or a text message.

US was about to introduce legislation that would make spam legal unless

The huge volume of uninvited
porn doesn't help
in the battle against lust, promiscuity, obsession and disease.

Not surprising in the light of our
postmodern culture which has little appreciation for God's call to honesty,
integrity, self-denial and genuine love. He will change us if only we will
