"Panama has become the 56th nation to ratify a treaty creating an International Criminal
Court, meaning only four more nations need to ratify the pact before it takes effect
over U.S. objections. The Bush administration has said it will not send the treaty
to the Senate for ratification in its current form. The tribunal would be the first permanent
institution created specifically to try people charged with war crimes, genocide, crimes
against humanity and crimes of aggression.... A U.S. official has said that the treaty
'`lacks essential safeguards' to fend off biased prosecution."
Notice the ambiguous and open-ended phrase,
"crimes against humanity." Such crimes would be defined according to UN standards.

of white-owned land two years ago. Terry Ford, 51, contacted neighbors late Sunday and
reported a group of about 20 militants were besieging his home....Ford smashed his car
into a farm fence to make a getaway but was dragged from the vehicle and shot in the head
against a tree in an execution-style killing, the union said."
It's part of a revolutionary strategy: stir
anger against landowners, cleanse the land of white farmers, redistribute the land as
rewards to revolutionaries, produce social chaos, form a new socialist government with
UN support. Having helped create the crisis, Thabo Mbeki, the communist ruler of South
Africa (I heard him speak at Gorbachev's 1995

John Ashcroft praised Germany's newly enacted law that allows authorities to ban religious
organizations used as fronts for extremists, saying Friday it was a necessary measure
in the war on terrorism. The law, which came into force Dec. 8, was brought about after
authorities investigating possible connections to the Sept. 11 terror attacks argued they
were being hamstrung in their efforts by strict legislation protecting religious freedoms.
Interior Minister Otto Schily made quick use of the new law, on Wednesday banning an Islamic

decades-old public health laws could prevent authorities from battling a 21st century

public health authorities to take over hospitals, seize drug supplies, quarantine people

himself received training and weapons from the CIA, and that agency's military and financial
assistance helped the Afghan rebels build a set of encampments around the city of Khost.

Two Utah towns consider 'U.N.-free zones': "While left-leaning
locales such as Berkeley, Calif., and Takoma Park, Md., have declared their towns nuclear-free
zones, the Utah laws would be the first in the nation where towns have voted to give the

if they understand how far the UN web has already reached into their education and civil
